Apartment drama, noises following me, permanent life tilt

So I made a post that I was looking for a new apartment because my place above Nimeta Bar was too loud

Anyways, I found a place and signed a lease yesterday. http://www.city24.ee/realestate/flat/1026360

When I finally move in about 3pm, I go lie down on bed and think ahhh finally some peace and quiet. But then I heard bass? I'm thinking it fucking cannot possibly be, but yes I hear bass and no music.

Thought it was neighbor, and later thought it was the hotel across from me. However, now I believe it is some bar, I don't know where but that bounces it's music off my place.

The bass has been continuous from 3pm to 3am. I am so furious right now, becuase I even told the owner and the realtor the reason I was moving was because too much noise. Also, the owner and realtor insisted on cash even though I wanted to transfer SEB. I went along with it... is that shady or normal?

Additionally, the washer doesn't work, and the sauna will not go above 60 degrees. My washer was coincidentally broken at the last place too. Haven't had clean clothes in 3 weeks!

    FUCK FUCK FUCK

    What's my play from here?

I think I will wait a week and pray this noise only happens Saturday. But I think I am basically going to start looking for another place immediately, and probably never seeing that security deposit or broker fee since they were paid in cash.

Yea, that is true for some places, but I know of many people who live in Old Town and don't have the problem. Even in my old complex, I kept asking people if they were annoyed by the bass and nobody else heard it... my place had unusually thin walls.

The first 6 months of living there were fine, until I got surrounded by different neighbors playing club music and dubstep all night.

This new place is ridiculous though, I put my hand up against the wall and it was literally vibrating. It's 6am now, and I still hear it! Definitely not normal.

lol, maybe you should ask this forum next time about the place - is there any pubs/bars near by?:D

Did you have any receipt for payment? If not, then they took cash because they dont want to pay taxes. And because the apartment dont meet the requirements of contract (washer, sauna, noise), you have the right to back off contract, if the owner doesnt fix problems. But knowing our real estate businesse manners, it will be hard.

I checked into a hotel now. The noise is continuous through the day and night at this new place.

I emailed the landlord about the sauna and washer to see what they say. No mention of the noise yet to the owner/realtor... want to see if they are actually going to fix the sauna and washer, or if the whole thing was a setup and they knew about the problem.

Yea, I have a receipt for the payments and a contract signed, but I seriously doubt I will be getting the money back given it was cash.

There didn't appear to be any major bars on this street! I don't know where the noise comes from.

Actually, this is partly true, but I think as a result of being exposed to it so long at the first place. Although I did have a friend over at the new place who could hear it, and I could feel small vibrations in my wall.

When I checked into a hotel today I swear I hear similar noises, and even switched rooms, then hotels... but then realized these were auditory hallucinations.

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to have my ears looked at. Maybe I have this now... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinnitus. It sucks cause I cannot tell which low grade humming sounds are real or not anymore.

Oh and landlord sending someone by to look at sauna and washer at least... there is hope lol

I hope everything is gonna be okay with your hearing and its just temporary (if real at all). You don't hear sounds ALL THE TIME right? I.e. in a quiet room you still recognize that its quiet and you can relax even if its for 5 minutes only. Maybe go to some smaller town for couple of weeks for a rest (go to rankas apartment in Pärnu now thats he is away or smth). I don't wanna scare you but I remember reading this scary story some time ago, where a guy got tinnitus from a concert and how badly it ended for him :( - http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...pergroups-gig/

Hope you gonna be ok and get you next apartment away from old town and into some calmer part of the city.

Paying in cash is very normal - people dont want pay taxes. So your deposit money is safe unless you broke something.
